Chinese Banquet

A traditional Chinese banquet is a ten-course meal served family-style. Each course is placed in the center of the table, and guests help themselves to the food.

For Myjanou and James' wedding banquet, the following will be served:

Appetizer Platter

(Honey BBQ Roast Pork, Five Spice Beef Slices, Sliced Pork Hock, Marinated Jellyfish, Baby Octopus)

Jumbo Shrimp

tossed in a honey cream sauce garnished with candied walnuts

Cantonese-Style Crispy Chicken

Abalone, Fish Maw, and Dried Scallops Chowder

Twin Sirloin Steak

served over bed of Chinese Broccoli

Stir-Fried Jumbo Shrimp and Fresh Scallops in Bird's Nest

Crispy Whole Grey Sole base served

with sautéed Grey Sole Fillets

Twin Lobster with Ginger and Scallion

Chicken Fried Rice

Phoenix Noodles

Sweet Red Bean Soup with Lotus Seeds and Lily Buds

Haitian Cake and Fancy Pastries

Additional Tips

With ten courses, not counting dessert, guests are advised to pace themselves over the course of the banquet.

It is very likely that guests will not be finished with a dish when it is time to make room for additional courses, so it is perfectly acceptable (and encouraged) to save any leftover food in to-go containers provided by restaurant staff.
